An example: when I started Firebrand Messaging, I was sure that the vast majority of my clients would be in the wedding industry. After all, I've been part of that world for the past 18 years - starting when I was just 21, fresh out of college, and managed to sweet-talk my way into a high-end catering sales position for which I was probably not close to qualified. My other company, a wedding entertainment firm, has been in business 13 years, and suffice it to say, I know a lot of people in this field.
The other assumption I made when I started Firebrand Messaging was that most of my clients would be local. I'm located in the greater, Washington, DC metro area, and figured the people who hired me would be my existing colleagues and friends of friends.
I was wrong on both counts.
Over the past few months, we've amassed a client base that is super diverse and super interesting. We currently provide services to the following industries:
- Branding and marketing
- Coaching and consulting
- Health and wellness
- Fashion design
- Event planning
- Art and design
- Real estate
- Beauty and styling
Working with all these different kinds of businesses makes my work really interesting - I love all the insight into what's important within each of these industries. Also, the direct input from my clients, especially the input they provide for detailed "thought leader" posts - has, without a doubt, helped me to improve my own businesses. (As just one example: helping some of the world's best branding experts craft their advice into blog posts has had a tremendous impact on my branding!)
With that in mind, I'd consider it a privilege to bring on clients from industries not reflected in the list above. (Not that I'm turning away more folks within those same categories!) Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss how Firebrand Messaging can help your business shine!
